Absztrakt (kivonat)
It is a great challenge how to teach science in secondary school, nowadays. Catch the attraction of the students is not easy toward a subject like chemistry, physics or biology. There are several abstractness definitions which they cannot link to the real life, and there are a lot of linkage between other natural based subjects like physics or biology. It can be hard to understand and boring to study. It would be more interesting if students would observe natural effects, perform own measurements, design own research activity. The science based learning is a new method, basing on the exploring characteristic of the students. By the application of this method the students would be able to solve problems in the everyday life which related on natural science skills. In the following article I would like to introduce a research which was performed by students in the last year. The topic was to reveal the connection between civilization diseases and the alimentation habits of the people. During the research the students learned the basic rules and steps of the scientific work like making hypothesis, study international publication to know what the state of art is. They read and translated several international publications in this field to know the details of these diseases and the occurring factors. In accordance with these publications they designed their own measurements: they chose some popular food product to measure their sugar and salt content. These two factors (sugar and salt) are responsible for several civilization deceases, like high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases or obesity. At the end of the project they organized a ‘health day’ to introduce their information about this topic. That day was a great opportunity to draw the other students’ attraction to healthy eating and lifestyle.
