Absztrakt (kivonat)
Three Dramas on the Jesuit School Stage of Eger ----- Towards the end of the 150-year Turkish occupation, in 1687, the Turks were already invested within the town of Eger, thus they agreed to leave: the Latin contract between the Turks and Caraffa (head of the Imperial troops) on the terms of the Turks’ leave survived in the Jesuit Historia Domus of Eger. Some weeks later, the Jesuit monk István Pusztabonyák arrived in the town, he chose the sites of the future school and church; the Jesuit school opened next year, building of the church started in 1700, the seminary opened in 1704. Though the school was in a temporary building untill 1754, the number of students increased. In the period between 1692−1772, 257 dramas were performed, i.e., they had 2–3 annual performances. The paper refers to three dramas of this corpus. Only the periocha of the first two survived: in 1700, 158 actors took part in the Triumphus gloriosus sive Novem Stephanorum pro Agra Strenue pugnantium gloriosa defensio ac victoria. In 1721, the Danish play Hadingus et Hundingus reges was ordered by Erdődy Gábor, bishop of Eger, who received his brother, bishop of Nyitra with this performance. The guest was welcomed also by a spectacular festivity. Faludi Ferenc’s Constantinus Porphyrogenitus (survived with full text) was performed already in the new theatre hall, in 1754.
