Absztrakt (kivonat)
The Cered-Almagy Basin is situated at the boundary between Hungary and Slovakia. It belongs to the upper catchment area of the Tarna and Gortva river. It is a manifold hilly basin area, that have more important levels are the following: 1. the neighbouring mountains (1000-1500m), 2. sandstone hills and the AjnácskĘ (Hajnáþka) Mountains (400-600m), 3. low hilly area of the inner part of the basin (280-330m), 4. alluvium (photo 1.). The analysis deals with the third level. It states that on the bases of analogies in Hungary it got formed in the pliocene – formation period at Bélbaltavár, due to its loose structure it can be taken for glacis. With the investigations of the sediment the substance of the pediment’s composition and the possible erosion direcion are studied. It points out, that the fine-grained sand fraction (0.2-0.1mm) is more dominant in the granular composition of the sediment in the rate of 25-70%. Weak secondmaximum can also be observed by the dustfraction (0.05-0.02mm), that refers to loess accumulation and it is typical of the layer fossiled soil. The AjnácskĘ Mountains was the erosion area, the accumulation left behind different sediment layer at vertical and at horizontal. The fine-grained sand fraction is more determinant easttowards and down. Fluvial processes can determine as a transport agent, although the slovak references describes it as eolian sediments, but the author does not agree with it.
