Absztrakt (kivonat)

Regional changes of selected climate variables are presented for North-East Hungary parallel to the global warming. The GCM-results from the two recent IPCC Reports (2001 and 2007) are specified, together with the mezoscale model results summarized by the PRUDENCE Project (Christensen, J. H., 2005) and five statistical approach, developed by the author, are first synthesized to the expected 1.0 K warming by 2030. Annual mean precipitation does not change much but slight winter increase is (adversely) more than compensated by stronger summer decrease of natural water supply. Moreover, the warming is stronger than in global average in all seasons, hence the outcome term of the surface water balance also points at the increased scarcity of water balance. These results, still averaged for the whole Hungary (93,000 sq. km) are followed by soil-moisture (PDSI) and runoff estimations already specified for the NE-Hungary region. The common feature of the water balance is the less available water. However, as presented via diverging results of the impact studies, simulation of true time variability of the water balance needs improved downscaling. This is further expected from mezoscale modeling.
