Absztrakt (kivonat)
While studying the definition of historical novel we’re looking for an answer: what role will the changing media play in the creation of the concept of the genre. The most well-known novels of Géza Gárdonyi are designated as historical novels and are studies as representations of history. We are able to answer the question concerning the genre: the historical novel is not just the representation of the past; the concept of history in it isn’t allegorical. Neither is the historical novel an alternative history. It can, however, change the real into permanent imaginative and with this it can be the allegory of reading and re-reading texts and of the remembrance of texts.
