Absztrakt (kivonat)

(Herzen on architecture) Herzen is will-know as an outstanding Russian thinker, writer, publicist and litery critic but his works on the Arts-theatre, music an architecture - are of great value, too. His writings on architecture, only fragments of which have survived, were written during exile in Viatka under the influence of Vitberg, a Russian architect. Herzen considered him an excellent architect who, under the contemporary conditions in Russia, could not realize his ideas. Herzen wrote about architectural styles, old Russian churches in Vladimir, Italian towns like Venice emphasizing the relationship between the Arts, in this case between architecture an reality. These miscellaneous writings are not Herzen's s most important but they demonstrate his versatility.
