Absztrakt (kivonat)
Network Analysis in International Women’s Movement ----- The international literature on the transnational network of umbrella organizations of progressive, national women’s associations in the end of the 19th century and the evolving or changing relations among each feminist activists has exponentially developed recently. Among these literatures, we can find methodological studies, document collections, publications on the foundation, structure, expansion, polity and challenges of main international umbrella organizations, and case studies about certain activists. The group members’ communality of interests, collective identity and the evolution of these during the first two decades before the First World War, and from 1914 to 1918 are starting points of several investigations. Some works on the Hungarian aspects of the question of Judit Szapor and Zimmermann Susan can be regarded significant, however, the domestic scientific research on the question was at a rudimentary level even in the beginning of the 2020s. In my study, I am seeking answers to the following questions: What are the challenges in the analysis of various women’s network both in Hungary and abroad? Why are several basic researches still missing from the field? Do documents, the sporadic character of primary sources or other difficulties play a role in this? Finally, I will demonstrate how a feminist activist’s network can be systematically studied through the case study of Rózsa Schwimmer (1877, Budapest–1948, New York), the head of the Political Committee of the Feminists’ Association (1904–1949, Budapest).
