Remaining? Networks? Past Relations in the Political Police ----- The most important instrument to get and hold power for the communists after the WWII was the police and within mainly the political police. They took control over the latter soon, but it was not clear what other factors aside from the party membership affected the pursuit of positions within this organization. In my study, I seek answer to questions about were there other past relations, networks beyond the influx of communists. Is it possible to study the ‘remaining networks’ of this era? One of the outcomes of network theory researches is that in various social activities our looser social bonds have decisive roles like in the pursuit of jobs, because these ties may bring useful information outside of our inner circle (from the outer world) in terms of positioning. Although there are not enough quantity and quality of documents to map the complete network of the former political police, but I will still try to draw an image about these ‘little worlds’ on the basis of the results of organization research.
